        Dr. Biber received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel  Hill in 1974.  He completed his internship in Clinical Psychology at the Georgia Mental Health Institute in Atlanta, GA.  He received his B.A. from Columbia University in New York City.  After working first at the Clayton County Mental Health Center in suburban Atlanta and then in Charlotte at the Mecklenburg County Mental Health Center, in 1978 he entered private practice in Charlotte.  He is licensed by NC Board of Psychology Examiners as a Licensed Practicing Psychologist-Health Care Provider and by the NC Board of Marital and Family Therapy as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Society.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Division of Professional Practice of the North Carolina Psychological Association.  

         In addition to his clinical practice,  Dr. Biber is a part-time Associate Professor of Psychology at Queens University of Charlotte  since 1976, teaching various clinical courses, including Abnormal Psychology, Behavior Disorders of Children and Adolescents, Theories of Personality, Theories of Counseling, Forensic Psychology, and Psychology and Religion.  For approximately ten years, Dr. Biber served as a clinical consultant to the McLeod Addictive Disease Center, providing supervision and consultation to the staff of the adult and the adolescent programs in the area of alcohol and drug abuse

        Married for 42 years to Judy Biber, Dan is the father of four and the grandfather of five.
